To use the Restore Point Creator tool in Windows, search for “Create a restore point” in your taskbar search box, open the settings panel, and click the Create button. A system restore point works like a time machine for your PC. It saves your system files and settings so you can roll back time if an update or driver breaks your computer. How to Turn on the Restore Tool
Before making a restore point, you must turn the feature on. Type “Create a restore point” in the Windows search bar. Click the top result to open System Properties. Look at the Protection Settings box.
Click on your main system drive, which is usually Local Disk (C:). Click the Configure button. Choose Turn on system protection.
Move the Max Usage slider to choose how much disk space to use. We suggest setting the slider between 5% and 10%. Click OK to save your changes. How to Create a Restore Point Manually
You should always make a new restore point right before you install big software or update a device driver. System Restore – Microsoft Support
